Harriet performs the London premiere of Julian Joseph’s concerto at a Charity Event to raise monies for children to learn music

On March 24th, 2023, Harriet will perform the London premiere of Julian Joseph’s violin concerto at a new concert hall in London. Proceeds from the concert will fund bursaries to the World Heart Beat Music Academy. The World Heart Beat Academy gives children and young people, many of whom live in challenging circumstances, the opportunity to learn music. They open their doors to any child wanting to learn music and provide free instruments and tuition to anyone who needs them. With the cost-of-living crisis, families face significant financial challenges, and bursaries are more vital than ever. Alongside Julian Joseph’s violin concert, Harriet will be performing Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons. She will be directing and performing her own ensemble – Celoniatus Ensemble. https://uk.patronbase.com/_WorldHeartBeat/Productions/R/Performances

New violin concerto written for Harriet Mackenzie by Julian Joseph!

Jazz pianist, composer and broadcaster Julian Joseph is writing a  violin concerto for Harriet Mackenzie to be premiered at Salisbury International Festival 2022 with Ensemble 12.

The world première of jazz legend Julian Joseph’s violin concerto ‘Karyryouacou’– commissioned by Salisbury International Arts Festival – marries perfectly with Vivaldi’s Four Seasons masterpiece in this fresh, exciting programme.

Vivaldi’s nature and birdsong inspiration complements Joseph’s vision for his new piece which also celebrates the Festival’s island theme – the richness of the history of an island in the Grenadines.

Harriet Mackenzie (Associate Artist) and 12 Ensemble join forces for the first time.

“Islands are precious places of family, history and geography but even more importantly of mind, heart, spirit, soul and human connection” Julian Joseph.
